Hello,

See Alicia's request for a markup of what the AL work area would look like with new larger hub-monitors.

Shoud be images attached, but if not ask and I can forward them.

I think it's a great idea to generate an image or two?

Hi Bill,

Actually, would you be willing to have the co-ops create a mock-up/drawing of what the tables would be like with the new monitors installed, including the dimensions of the red things, table, and new monitors? If that’s not a reasonable request, no worries, we can discuss further.

Best,

Alicia

Hi Bill,

All sounds good; if the ACO is willing to look into uninstalling the existing computers and locating the new ones on the upper part, that sounds good to me.

I could chat after lunch today!

Best,

Alicia

Hello Alicia,

Sorry was in meetings most of the day ...

I've reviewed and measured, and as long as we can locate the new hub-monitors on the upper parts of the "large red things", we should be find keep the "large red things" and have space for a laptop to take advantage of the new hub-monitors.

We have run into an issue that the security screws/bolts we used to install the monitors have been hard to locate the screw-driver head that removes the two type of security bolts.

In summary, if we can remove the existing monitors, we should be ablt to replace with hub-monitors on the existing tables with no alterations.

Make sense? Can chat Wednesday AM if needed.

Would like to chat about combo-locks anyways.

Cheers, Bill

Hi Bill,

This morning Nevil explained that removing the ‘large red things’ wouldn’t leave us with functional table space… he also mentioned that it would take some effort to replace the current set-up with the new Hub monitors.. Do you think the Hub monitors would be used more than the current set-up if the red things remain on the table? I can ask Kathryn if we have any funds for replacement tables but my guess is no..

Do you want to re-visit this project or discuss anything?

Hello Alicia,

What I think I heard was to remove those two "large red things" and replace with whatever you and Kathryn want. So no need for IT on those two red things, they get removed for something you prefer.

Is this correct?

Only update those along the glass wall with hub-monitors.

Sorry for another message Bill, but your most recent email has me thinking maybe I misunderstood – for the two ‘main’ tables in the foyer, we want to remove the red things but still go ahead with the hub-monitor replacements (e.g., rather than computers).. is that what you meant as well? Or do you mean remove the computers and red things and don’t replace them, leaving just the tables?

Best,

Alicia

Hi Bill,

Sorry I missed your call… All sounds good to me! Kathryn has confirmed we have no need/desire to keep them. I’m fine with keeping the one closer to the entrance.

Let me know if you’d like to discuss anything else and I can hop on a call!

Best,

Alicia

Hello Alicia,

I think you nailed it with your comment "large red things". I attempted to call via Teams ...

I don't believe they are necessary and would not have been used very much at all, so I would think they aren't necessary and could free up more comfortable space for students.

However, maybe we keep the ones along the window wall (near entrance towards ML)?

Thanks Nevil, good to know the ACO was/is also working on improving the space a little bit! What’s the plan for the large red things (where I imagine the computers currently sit)… Will they go with the computers?
