I'm wondering if we could simpilify this message for a broader communication for Faculty of Arts staff and faculty? https://uwaterloo.ca/information-systems-technology/unified-communications-project

May have another to share (MatLab & Windows 10 extended coverage).

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our _ Indigenous Initiatives Office_<https://uwaterloo.ca/human-rights-equity-inclusion/indigenousinitiatives>.

Subject: New unified telephone solution coming to campus

What is happening? IST is excited to announce the implementation of a unified communication solution that will replace a set of existing legacy telephone solutions across campus which have been built upon over many years (i.e., analog, digital, Skype for Business). The foundational components of this legacy system date back to the mid-1990s and are far past the end of their useful life. The new solution is integrated with Microsoft Teams for a unified user experience and will simplify telephone administration throughout campus. Members of the university community will make and receive phone calls from within the Teams user interface, providing a convenient and accessible experience across major computing and mobile platforms.

Implementation and migration support: With over 15 years of experience in voice services solutioning, Long View Systems is assisting IST with this implementation and transition. Long View holds advanced specializations in Teams phone systems and adoption and change management processes and has enabled over 200 clients across North America on their journey to a modern telephony environment. The completion of a competitive RFP process yielded the most cost-effective solution for our campuses.

More information coming soon: Design and implementation plans are currently being developed, and more detailed migration plans will be announced. Updates and additional information on this initiative will be available on the Unified Communications project page<https://uwaterloo.ca/information-systems-technology/unified-communications-project> as work progresses, including FAQs, what you can expect to change, and what may be staying the same.

Questions? Any questions or concerns regarding this work can be submitted to ist-comm at uwaterloo.ca<mailto:ist-comm at uwaterloo.ca>.
