[Anthsoc] 2007 Silver Medal & Sal Weaver Awards event

ATTENTION ALL UPPER YEAR ANTHROPOLOGY MAJORS:

Fall is here and it is time for the annual Anthropology celebration 
and presentation of the Silver Medal and Sal Weaver Awards.

The lecture this year will be on Wednesday, October 17th at 3:30 p.m. 
in the Tatham Centre, Room 2218 A&B and this year it gives the 
department great pleasure to have Dr. James Waldram from the 
University of Saskatchewan as our guest speaker. His lecture is 
entitled "Traditional Healing" or "Experience-based Medicine"? A 
Q'eqchi (Maya) Example from Southern Belize.

The lecture will be followed by a reception at 5:00 in PAS 3005 and 
dinner at Prof. Harriet Lyons' house.  In order for us to plan 
catering, etc., could you please RSVP to Allyson Rowat, the

If you wish to attend the dinner, please tell us when you RSVP and 
please be advised that we have had to raise the contribution to 
$10.00 to help defray costs.  Please get back to us by October 12th 
so that we can finalize plans.
