*Our 2012-2013 fellow class has been in the field for six months. Here are
some highlights of the positive work they've been doing: *
Emily Sullivan and Faridah Nantume at *MIFUMI* in Uganda organized a *16
Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence* event for over 600
participants. The event included voluntary HIV testing and counseling for
survivors of gender-based violence, testimonies of survivors of domestic
violence, and educational drama and singing groups.

Tyler Nelson and Angelique Bakunzi, who are placed at *the Access
Project,* helped
oversee the training of *3,039 Community Health Workers on RapidSMS,* a
program of the Rwandan Ministry of Health supported by UNICEF, which is a
nation-wide innovative SMS-based tracking and intervention system for
maternal and child health. The goal of the program is to *reduce maternal
and neonatal mortality* through adequate case tracking, emergency response
services, and increased facility-deliveries, prenatal visits and health
center preparation.

experiences to join Global Health Corps in a paid and supported fellowship.
Fellows work on the front lines of major global health issues within some
of the top organizations in the field. Housing, a living stipend, medical
