Necromedia
Join us, TOMORROW Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 7:00 p.m.
in the James J. Brown Auditorium at the Waterloo Public Library.
Marcel O'Gorman, Associate Professor, English Language & Literature will
explore the "collusion of death and technology," drawing on copycat school
shootings as case studies in technological being. He will also discuss his
recent psychology experiments and digital art projects, which embody his
theory of "necromedia."
>From video game resurrections to the coveted "immortality gene," technology
provides the essential ingredient of all cultures throughout history: an
immortality ideology, Technology, in the end, is not about gadgets or genes.
It's a way of being.
