*Mr. Plow meets the Beatles *

With examples from ads, popular music, television, literature,
philosophy and science, Professor Randy Harris will explore how and why
our minds respond instinctively to Homer Simpson, John Lennon, and Sir
Issac Newton when they put their words into the rhetorical form
immortalized by Horton the Elephant: "I meant what I said and I said
what I meant: an elephant's faithful, one-hundred percent."

Join us Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the James J. Brown
Auditorium at the Waterloo Public Library for this free public talk.
