UW'S DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE ANNOUNCES 

A TALK BY DR. TERRY EAGLETON ON "THE NATURE OF EVIL" 

THURSDAY MAY 13TH 2010 AT 4 PM IN ARTS LECTURE HALL 113 

Dr. Terry Eagleton is one of the best-known literary theorists and critics alive today. His book /Literary Theory: An Introduction/ (1983) was recently re-published in a 25th-anniversary edition (2008). He is also the author of /Sweet Violence: The Idea of the Tragic/ (2002), /How to Read a Poem/ (2007), and/Trouble with Strangers: A Study of Ethics/ (2008). His latest monograph, /On Evil/ (Yale UP), will appear in 2010. 

The 2010-11 academic year marks the fiftieth anniversary of UW's Department of English Language and Literature. In recognition of this milestone, the Department plans a year of celebrations designed to bring together alumni, students, and professors for convivial times and intellectual stimulation.
