Music this weekend

Hello everyone,
This is the end of the Fall Term, so we have 3 more student concerts this weekend.

1.       Gloria Deo!
St. Peter's Lutheran Church at 49 Queen St, Kitchener, 8pm (Saturday, Nov 29)
This will be the 3 University Choirs singing a selection of Christmas music, everything from French carols to Thomas Tallis (old English music), to a new composition by Timothy Corlis.  Admission is $10/$5 for students or seniors
Tickets are available at the door.

2.      U.W. Jazz Ensemble - "How Sweet it Is"
Conrad Grebel University College - Great Hall at 2pm on Sunday, Nov 30.
Admission is $10/$5 for students or seniors, tickets are available at the door
Everything from Gershwin to Duke Ellington.  Free reception to follow.


3.       UW Instrumental Chamber Ensembles
Conrad Grebel University College - Chapel at 7:30pm on Sunday, Nov 30.
Free Admission, with reception to follow.
6 different chamber ensembles, including one brass group.

You are probably thinking, students - how good could they be?  However, this being the UW it means they can be very good indeed.  For example, many of the students in the Chamber Ensembles are in nanotechnology or something similarly difficult, and they play difficult but lovely music to take a break.
