Augmented Reality, Teaching Experiments, and the War of 1812

Can you imagine a game in which the act of doing history - of collecting and interpreting evidence and constructing narratives - is both the goal and the reward? Can there be a game which actually gets students to explore museums, libraries, and heritage sites on their own time? And would students actually want to play it? A few historians at Western University set out to try to make one.
