Referencing the study of rapid eye movements (saccades) and short, subsequent stops in between (fixations), Fixations & Saccades brings together a selection of recent work by six multidisciplinary artists whose process is grounded in abstraction. While not predicated on the illusionary strategies often associated with Op Art, these appear as an underlying influence. By juxtaposing similarities and differences in materials, approach, and process—from painting to sculpture to mixed media—the exhibition sets out to stimulate a satisfying push-pull between abstraction and perception.

Please join us for the launch of our fall exhibitions program.
Exhibitions are free and open to the public.
