CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT
The AAHE Teaching Initiative and The Pace University Center for Case Studies
in Education present:
IMPROVING TEACHING AND LEARNING THROUGH REFLECTIVE PRACTICE: A Working
Conference for College Faculty
July 30-August 2, 1995
University of British Columbia, Vancouver, B.C.
With interest in teaching on the rise, many faculty are eager to examine,
discuss, and reflect upon their teaching practice--and how to improve it.
Strategies for doing so include the development and discussion of cases
and narratives; the practice of classroom research and assessment techniques
for understanding more about student learning; the creation of teaching and
learning portfolios; and the establishment of faculty and student learning
communities. Such strategies for reflective teaching practice will be the focus
of a working conference to be held at the University of British Columbia in
Vancouver July 30 through August 2, 1995.
A WORKING CONFERENCE
Based on successful conferences the past two summers, this will be an intense,
action-packed, fun-filled, three-and-a-half day event, limited to 150
