Theater takes return trip on Information Superhighway
Chicago - May 22, 1995 - Studio Z once again uses the Information
Superhighway to present
plays from the South Australian Writers' Theatre to Chicago audiences. The
nonprofit play
development organization's Australian play reading series "Voices From Down
Under" enters
its second year with the U.S. premier of Jeanne Mazure's play "Glass"
directed by Bryan Garey.
A staged reading of "Glass" will be presented on Sunday, June 4th at 2 p.m.
at Sheffield's Wine
and Beer Garden, 3258 N. Sheffield Ave.
"The Internet is enabling the cast and director in Chicago to communicate
with the playwright in
Australia throughout the rehearsal process," according to Dan Zellner,
Studio Z's Artistic Producer.
"To date, the Studio remains the only theatre organization in Chicago to use
the Internet in this
manner. We plan to continue producing and developing international projects
via this new
technology."
