            Associate Dean for for Production and Public Events
 
THE MEADOWS SCHOOL OF THE ARTS at Southern Methodist University seeks an
Associate Dean to supervise all administrative aspects of approximately 450
public events and productions annually.  The staff position with faculty
rank reports directly to the Dean of the School.
 
Qualifications:
 
Terminal degree or equivalent professional experience and administrative
experience of not fewer than five years required; education and experience
across the arts (fine art, art history, arts administration, communication
arts, dance, music, and theatre) preferred.
 
Responsibilities:
 
Individual must be highly skilled in management of diverse teacher artists
and scholars; able to function well among a range of constituencies;
knowledgeable about marketing, public relations, scheduling, contract
negotiation, box office, the production process, house and stage
management.
 
Rank and Salary:
 
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
 
Starting Date:
 
After July 15, 1995
