Tenure Track Position in Directing/Acting
The University of Windsor invites applications for a tenure track position
in Dramatic Art in the area of Directing/Acting at the rank of Assistant
Professor commencing July 1, 2001.
Dramatic Art at the University of Windsor is one of the oldest and best
established theatre and drama programs in the country. Our graduates have
made a mark on both the world stage and in film. Currently Dramatic Art
offers honours degree programs in Acting, Music Theatre, Drama in Education
and Drama, and a wide ranging subscription season of plays through
University Players that serve the community. For further information about

The City of Windsor has a vital and expanding cultural community and we are
within easy driving distance to Stratford, Toronto, Detroit, and Chicago.
Boundless opportunities exist to explore and expand creative potential
within both the University setting and the community.
Candidate must possess an MFA degree, or in exceptional cases demonstrated
professional ability in directing and acting. Relevant teaching experience
at the university level and professional directing and acting experience
are essential. A demonstrated commitment to creative/scholarly activity
and a potential for excellence in the areas of these specializations are
essential.
Responsibilities will include the teaching of acting primarily in the BFA
Acting and Music Theatre programs. Additional teaching responsibilities
may include directing for University Players, teaching in General/Honours
Degree programs in such courses as Directing, Developmental Improvisation,
or other areas of the candidate's expertise. The ability to teach
performance in Shakespeare to BFA Acting and Music Theatre students is
required.
