Dear Colleagues,
The Center for Canadian Studies of the University of Brussels is pleased to announce the recent publication of a new monograph about postcolonial/Canadian drama: Marc Maufort, Transgressive Itineraries. Postcolonial Hybridizations of Dramatic Realism (Brussels: P.I.E.-Peter Lang, 2003, ISBN: 90-5201-178-8, 250 pp.). This book analyzes the myriad ways in which various English Canadian, Australian and New Zealand playwrights have dramatized Europe’s ethnic or First Nations “Other” in its multiple guises. The work explores the new realist aesthetic developed by such prominent Canadian playwrights as Judith Thompson, George Walker, Guillermo Verdecchia, George Seremba, Djanet Sears, Betty Quan, Marty Chan, M.J. Kang, Tomson Highway, Daniel David Moses and Drew Taylor (For more information, please consult the publisher's website: http://www.peterlang.net)
