Dramaturgy Debut Panel
Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE)
2004 Conference in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
The Dramaturgy Focus Group announces a competitive Debut Panel to showcase
outstanding and innovative work by new dramaturgs in educational and
professional theatre. If you are a graduate student, intern, or new
professional dramaturg and have provided dramaturgy for a production during
the past three years, you are eligible to apply. (Although preference may be
given to graduate students and professionals, undergraduates may apply.)
Panelists selected will present overviews of their creative and
collaborative processes (including production photos, slides, software
presentation and/or video) at ATHE's national conference at the Sheraton
Centre, Toronto (July 29-August 1, 2004).
The deadline for submission of a prospectus is April 10, 2004. Dramaturgs
selected for the debut panel will be notified on or about May 10, 2004.
Your 2-4 page prospectus should include the following:
* an overview of the production/collaboration, including work produced,
location, dates, producing organization, production staff
* a brief description of the scope and focus of your dramaturgy
* supporting materials (program, photos, slides, other documents)
Your prospectus should be accompanied by one or more letters of support from
supervising faculty, directors, or theatre professionals involved in the
production process. Letters should address the level and quality of your
dramaturgy. Please send one original set of documents and two copies. Mail
three copies of each item in your prospectus to:
