- Previous message: Hello Colleagues, The Encyclopedia of Canadian Theatre (www.canadiantheatre.com), hosted by Athabasca University, welcomes contributions from theatre scholars and practitioners -- new entries and updates to existing ones. As the current editor, I am working toward improving the critical content of the entries, and adding substantive texts on playwrights, directors, plays, theatres, critics -- to provide as complete a picture of theatre in Canada as possible. The entries are cross-linked, and illustrated. Please check out recent entries on Joan MacLeod, David Gardner, Stephen Massicotte, Sister Geraldine Anthony, Morris Panych, Ken Dyba, Drayton Entertainment Company. Recent contributors include Anton Wagner and Richard Plant. I invite your assistance with this all-Canadian project. Encyclopedia of Canadian Theatre

Playback Theatre Weekend Intensive
You are invited to join a Playback Theatre Weekend Intensive training
workshop, June 4 and 5th 2005, with Robert Osborne. Participants from around
Vancouver and the Vancouver Island region will come together to share
stories, practice and rehearse their PT and conducting skills while building
a stronger Playback network here in B.C. This workshop will support and
challenge you to:
. Develop and define your own unique PT style
. Both learn and create specific new PT techniques and forms
. Practice conducting skills with 'difficult' tellers
. Take healthier artistic risks as a conductor and PT actor
. Step more deeply into your innate creative authority
. Live more intimately in the center of your own awakening story
. Share the power, beauty and healing potential of story with the
broader community
"The magic happens when you give it away!" This rehearsal-style training
weekend will culminate in an 'invitation only' performance to be held early
on Sunday evening at the end of the training.
This workshop is a unique opportunity to rediscover what it is about this
work that inspires you. The weekend will be tailored to the specific needs
