Theatre Design Position
The University of Alberta invites applications for a new tenure track position
in Theatre Design to commence July, 2006. Applications are invited from
Designers with particular emphasis on costume design as well as expertise in
all three areas of design (sets, lights and costumes). The successful
applicant will be prepared to teach Design, Costume Techniques, the History of
Dress and Décor and Freehand Drawing. In addition s/he will design department
productions and supervise up to 10 student designers annually, and should be
qualified to advise students as they work on all three elements of design.
Designers work with staff, faculty and students from a variety of theatre
programs, including 7 production support staff. An external review committee
rated the teaching and production facilities as top in the country and among
the top five in North America. Commitment to working well within team
