Nine-Month Limited-Term Position in Acting
                            
                            
                            



The University of Windsor invites applications for a nine-month
limited-term faculty position in the School of Dramatic Art in the area of
Acting at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor commencing August 15,
2007. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

The School of Dramatic Art at the University of Windsor is one of the
oldest and best established theatre and dramatic art programs in the
country. Our graduates have made a mark on both the world stage and in
film, and in education. Currently, the School of Dramatic Art offers
honours degree programs in Acting, Drama in Education and Community, and
Dramatic Art, and a wide ranging subscription season of plays through
University Players that serve the community. For further information about

cultural community and we are within easy driving distance to Stratford,
Toronto, Detroit, and Chicago. Boundless opportunities exist to explore and
expand creative potential within both the University setting and the
community.

The incumbent’s responsibilities will include teaching Acting at all levels
and Developmental Improvisation in our Honours BA in Drama in Education and
Community and Honours BA in Dramatic Art programmes, and/or additional
courses in an area of the candidate’s expertise, such as Directing or
theatre survey courses. The minimum qualifications are an MA or MFA in
Theatre with significant theatre experience or, in exceptional cases,
demonstrated professional experience in acting and/or directing. A
background in teaching Acting to students who wish to teach at the
secondary school level is desirable. University teaching experience is
essential.

   ·  statements of teaching and creative activity interests;

   ·  a teaching dossier or evidence of teaching effectiveness that might
      include sample course outlines or teaching evaluations;

   ·  a statement of teaching philosophy and creative activity interests;

   ·  samples of creative/scholarly activity;

   ·  graduate transcripts, if a recent PhD; and

   ·  three current letters of reference forwarded by the referees.
