University of Missouri – Columbia, MO
The MU Department of Theatre is seeking proposals from scholars and
practitioners from a wide variety of disciplines who can bring their
expertise to the analysis of how LGBTQ lives can be portrayed in theatre
and performance for the “Angels in Performance: Documenting LGBTQ Lives in
Theatre and Performance” conference to be held on April 24-28, 2013, at the
University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. The conference is being presented
in conjunction with the MU Department of Theatre’s production of *Angels in
America*, directed by Dr. David A. Crespy, and will feature keynote
presentations from guest artists and scholars Tony Kushner, Dr. Robert
Schanke, and Dr. Kim Marra. The conference is also intended to celebrate
the recent acquisition of the Lanford Wilson papers by MU Special
Collections at Ellis Library. Presentations may address any area in the
purview of LGBTQ theatre history, performance, and/or queer theory and
could take the form of paper presentations, round-table discussions,
performances, or poster sessions. Graduate students are strongly encouraged
to apply. Interdisciplinary approaches are also strongly encouraged.

include your specific technology needs in the abstract. Submissions and
