*JADT **Call for Submissions (Fall 2025)*

The *Journal of American Drama and Theatre
<https://www.thesegalcenter.org/jadt>* (*JADT*), an online, open-access,
peer-reviewed publication, is *now accepting submissions
of articles, interviews, book reviews, and performance reviews* for our
2026 General Issue. *JADT* aims to promote research on theatre of the
Americas and to encourage historical and theoretical approaches to plays,
playwrights, performances, and popular theatre traditions.

*Articles*

Article submissions should be 5,000 to 8,000 words in length and prepared
in conformity with the *Chicago Manual of Style*. *Completed manuscripts
should be submitted as MS Word attachments via e-mail to *
*jadtjournal at gmail.com* <jadtjournal at gmail.com>*. *If you plan to include
images, please provide the images and captions with your submission (at
least 300dpi / authors are responsible for securing permissions before
submission). Style guidelines can be found online at
https://www.thesegalcenter.org/jadt.

*Book Reviews*
*JADT* book reviews are typically 800-1000 words (up to 1500 for double
reviews). Reviews should focus on the significance of the volume, its
contribution to the field, and how it connects to *JADT*’s mission:
promoting research and praxis on theatre, performance, and popular
traditions of theatre in the Americas, broadly conceived, whether through
critical, aesthetic, or social registers. *JADT *is committed to engaging
significant books from a diversity of writers, publishers, and cultures.

*Performance Reviews*

*JADT* seeks reviews of professional productions or performances of any
type in the Americas. Reviews should have a clearly articulated
theoretical/critical viewpoint, and we strongly encourage engagement with
work created by artists from historically marginalized communities. Reviews
of timely relevance are particularly welcome. Performance reviews should be
800–1200 words. Please refer to the journal website for formatting
guidelines.
