Title: Hippocampus longitudinal axis and memory: Location, location,
location.

Abstract:

The link between the hippocampus and episodic memory is well known.
However the hippocampus is not a homogenous structure. I will present
new evidence for a distinction between information processing in the
dorsal (septal) and ventral (temporal) regions of the hippocampus. These
include differences in theta frequency, correlation with running speed,
changes in power and coherence. Notably, both dorsal and ventral
hippocampus theta reflected aspects of a navigation task and there was
increased integration and cooperation throughout the hippocampus during
information processing.
