This event highlighted the challenges faced by prostate cancer patients and their families and the increasing number of treatment options that provide a good quality of life while living with this disease.

The event was once again hosted by Ann Hoggarth, MPP for Barrie, who opened the event. She was followed by Stuart Edmonds, VP of Prostate Cancer Canada, who spoke about access to medication as well as PSA testing.

Participate in a focus group about medical marijuana!

Have you or a relative or close friend used medical marijuana to control pain, reduce nausea from chemotherapy, or increase your appetite? Did your doctor help you access it? How difficult was it to get? Did it work? What could have improved your experience with medical marijuana?

Focus Groups
Share your experiences or those of your loved ones with the Canadian Cancer Survivor Network by taking part in a focus group about medical marijuana! Your location is not an issue – we will likely hold a virtual meeting so anyone can participate.

Video Testimonials
Doctors are interested to learn about patient experiences. You can volunteer for video taping testimonials, which will only be shared with physicians who want to learn more about this type of treatment.

Please email CCSN President & CEO Jackie Manthorne: jmanthorne at survivornet.ca <mailto:jmanthorne at survivornet.ca?subject=Medical%20Marijuana%20Focus%20Group> if you are interested in participating in our focus group or helping physicians learn more about medical marijuana by participating in a video testimonial.

Join our Seat at the Table program!

The objective of A Seat at the Table is to increase the number of informed cancer patients, survivors and caregivers sitting on cancer and other health care Boards, committees and research peer review panels where decisions are being made about cancer diagnosis, treatment, post-treatment care and research funding.

We are looking for volunteers to:

*	Become members of our Patient Engagement Advisory Committee to provide advice and guidance for our A Seat at the Table project.
*	Be nominated to sit on cancer and other healthcare Boards, committees and research peer review panels where decisions are being made about cancer care, including who will receive funding to conduct cancer research.
*	Help us develop curriculum so that patients can be better informed about healthcare and cancer care issues.

Please contact CCSN President & CEO Jackie Manthorne (jmanthorne at survivornet.ca) for the Committee’s terms of reference or to indicate your interest in being nominated to sit on Boards and committees. If you would like to help develop curriculum, please contact CCSN Secretary Mona Forrest (mforrest at survivornet.ca).
