Join Dr. Roger Zemp to learn about how:

*	Blood biomarkers are used in the detection of prostate cancer but may also offer promise in determining how aggressive a prostate cancer is
*	Current biomarker testing cannot yet predict aggressiveness, in part due to the low levels of informative prostate biomarkers in the blood
*	We are developing technologies that may help (1) amplify the level of such informative biomarkers in the blood using ultrasound and (2) enrich such biomarkers using magnetic trapping and nanoparticles

Speaker - Dr. Roger Zemp

  <https://gallery.mailchimp.com/381dca877e43c44046caa6dd1/images/e0c32357-42a2-40af-b5db-fc3062dc6cd9.jpg> Roger Zemp is an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Alberta. He earned his BSc in Physics at the University of Alberta in 1998, his MASc from the Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto in 2000 and his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of California, Davis in 2004. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow with Prof. Lihong Wang at Texas A&M University in Biomedical Optics from 2004-2006 then continued with Prof. Wang in Washington University in St. Louis from 2006-2007. He has been a faculty member at the University of Alberta since 2007. He is the author of 68 journal publications and over 140 conference publications or abstracts. He is on the editorial board of a number of journals and directs a research program with interests in biomedical optics, biomedical ultrasonics, photoacoutsic imaging, and micro- and nano-technologies for biomedicine.

What is an Expert Angle Webinar?

A webinar is an online tool that allows people from across Canada to have an online meeting and discuss important topics, view slide shows and interact with each other. We use a service called GoToMeeting to host these webinars.

Expert Angle is a place to exchange info and ideas through a series of webinars. You’ll have the opportunity to get important information on a wide range of topics, ask questions and communicate directly with experts in their respective fields. 

*After you’ve finished registering you’ll receive an email with the details on how to participate.

*You will be required to download the GoToMeeting software, this may take a few minutes.

*You can view the webinar through your PC where you can see the presentation, hear the speaker and ask questions.

*If you don’t have access to a PC you can still participate by calling into the 1-800 number and listening to the ongoing discussion.

*Only people with access to a PC during the webinar will be able to ask questions.

*Registration doesn't guarantee a seat. Only the first 100 registrants to sign into the webinar will be able to participate. So be on time!
