Next Meeting:

 

WEDNESDAY MAY 16th - 7:00 PM  at the WELLSPRING CENTRE, 2545 SIXTH LINE in OAKVILLE

 

 

On our website ( <http://www.pccn-oakville-mississauga.com/> http://www.pccn-oakville-mississauga.com/), I said “this is what a Support Group is all about”.

I was talking about our Discussion Evenings, and that’s what we will have again on Wednesday the 16th.

 

What to talk about? 

 

There is lots new in Radiation Therapy these days. We had Dr. Morton talk about brachytherapy last month and this week a few of us went to Brampton where Dr. Loblaw talked about stereotactic ablative body radiation. New radiation options for those who may only have considered surgery in the past. 

 

We had four new men join us last month and didn’t really have a chance to talk to the group.  We will be all ears this month.

 

Just when we were getting our tongues around enzalutamide and abiraterone, we now have a new name in second generation ADT – apalutamide. Anybody know about that?

 

Did you know that prostate cancer rating is moving away from Gleason scoring and moving to Grades 1 through 5? 

 

I’m sure some of you will have new experiences or issues to share or ask about.

 

We never seem to run out of things to talk about and two hours goes past very quickly. No doubt this month will be the same.

 

I look forward to seeing you on the 16th.
