India Canada Association of Waterloo Region is having a musical night - Geeton Bharishaam at Country Hills Community Centre on Sunday May 27th from 3 to 7 p.m. with proceeds to HopeSpring. This is a very entertaining evening in support of us. All are welcome.

Cancer Survivors & Advocates for Relay for Life
Relay for Life at Bluevale Collegiate Institute in Waterloo on May 25th is looking for cancer survivors in the community to participate in a survivors lap during the event, where they walk around the track and participants follow behind.
They are also hoping to have cancer advocates to speak on stage about their experiences relating to cancer and the importance of support and awareness. If your interested in getting involved, please contact:

Cambridge Meditation
Reduce your stress, sleep better
Meditation has been used as a means to achieve healthy thought management by exercising control over thoughts and emotions. In this group program, cancer patients and caregivers are taught mindfulness meditation exercises and are encourage to practice them at home to the greatest extent possible based on interest and health.

Support for women with all types of cancer
Support among the group is offered, tips are shared and strategies for coping discussed. A wide range of topics are covered each meeting including everyday life events, past, present and future. Come discuss concerns about your cancer treatments, eating problems, and relationship issues. This group is warm and friendly and a good social circle for women with cancer.

Caregivers Support Group - New!
Provides the opportunity to meet with other caregivers
Cancer not only has a significant impact on the patient but on family and their caregivers. This support group provides family members, friends or other persons who play a significant role in the care of the cancer patient the opportunity to meet with other caregivers. The group will share issues and concerns regarding the care of the cancer patient and the effect of the diagnosis on relationships, life style and emotions. This group is to help improve the ability to cope, communicate and live with cancer.

Healthy Cooking
Summer session starts June 4th
This is a six week interactive program that promotes fun through participatory food preparation. Nutritional and educational information is shared by our registered dietitian Rebecca on how to handle cancer related eating challenges and what to eat during treatment. You will share the food prepared by our class. A family member or caregiver is welcome to register and attend with you.

Coping with Cancer
One hour workshop to deal with the emotional issues for people diagnosed with cancer
This one hour workshop is an introduction to the emotional, psychological, physical and practical issues faced by people diagnosed with cancer. Breast Cancer & Nutrition
Come learn dietary changes to help prevent and/or recurrence of breast cancer
In this program you will increase your knowledge related to the role of nutrition and breast cancer. Other topics include the impacts of healthy eating and weight, supplements, alcohol, physical activity, pystoestrogens, organic foods, calcium and Vitamin D.
