Quality of Life meetings focus on the impact of a prostate cancer diagnosis on lifestyle and well-being. 

 

SURVIVORS PARTNERS AND CAREGIVERS ARE INVITED.

 

Presentation by Sheela Zelmer B.Sc (Physical Therapy), M.C.P.A., Registered Physiotherapist, Pelvic Health Specialist.

 

Tuesday June 5th, 7-9 pm.

 

Location:

The Advent Valleyview Retirement Residence at 541 Finch Ave West, just west of Bathurst, at the eastern boundary of the Branson Hospital. Meeting is in the boardroom.

 

Topic:

"Below The Belt: Incontinence, Erectile Dysfunction and the role of Physiotherapy."

Outline:

* The pelvic floor muscles: What are they? What is their function?

* Pelvic floor muscle dysfunction following prostate cancer treatment

* Incontinence and the pelvic floor

* Erectile dysfunction and the pelvic floor.

* Self management

* The role of physiotherapy

There will be a special Quality of Life meeting on Tuesday July 3rd, 7-9 pm at the Advent Valleyview Retirement Residence. At this meeting partners and caregivers will be invited to share impressions of the prostate cancer journey. Please make your partners/caregivers aware of this meeting. 

Prostate Cancer Survivors (of course) are also invited to attend.
