Eric Lyon, who joined our prostate cancer support group last year, lost  his battle with PCa.

Oh Jenny.

 

This is heart breaking news. 

We sincerely enjoyed Eric even though the circumstances that brought us all together were difficult. You have been so brave Jenny, and stayed hopeful for Eric.

We are glad that his pain and fear are over and we know he left wrapped in love.

We are thinking of you Jenny. We wish so much that we could do something to ease your pain.

 

We will tell the other members of the support group for you. Will there be a service or memorial that we can relay to the other members?

Hello to you both. 

 

I wanted to let you know Eric’s health declined after this last email. He had to stop radium since it was not working. Chemo would have given him a few more months to live but his platelet count was steadily going down. 

 

He died on Tuesday evening. He died at home since at Hospice only one person could be a designated visitor and the kids wanted to be with him as well so he had the 3 of us with him in the end. 

 

Eric had intended to call Bill but got progressively more tired and withdrawn. The past 3 weeks he has been sleeping almost all the time. 

 

Please let the support group know. It was a great comfort to him to meet people and gain information about prostate cancer.

He likes to go out and see movies etc. He doesn’t like staying in the house. So it’s going to be hard keeping him in. This week he goes to the urologist and St Mary’s for the radium. At least the appointments are not frequent.
