chronology

I have been asked by Playwrights Canada to compile a brief (15-20 page)
"chronology of Canadian Theatre" for a PUC chapbook of memoirs that will
be distributed at a National Theatre Conference jointly sponsored by
the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres, Canadian Actors
Equity Association, the Associated Designers of Canada, the Canadian
Institute for Theatre Technology, and PUC, to be held in May. PUC
has suggested that the chronology begin with the founding of the Canada
Council in 1957 (but I think I will try to include a few notable things
prior to that).

I want to make the chronology interesting, NOT Toronto-centric, perhaps a
little quirky, and entertaining, so I'm calling for help from CANDRAMA
subscribers. If anyone (everyone) out there could send me things that you
feel ought to be included, I'd be extremely grateful (and will of course
acknowledge your contributions).
