Hello All:

Here is an announvcement which you may be interested in. I wonder
whether a project could be mounted in the theatre discipline which would
suit this initiative?

CRIC Project Launched as the "Community-University Research Alliances" Pilot
Program
January 20, 1999

The Humanities and Social Sciences Federation of Canada (HSSFC) applauds the
launch of the "Community-University Research Alliances" (CURA) Pilot Program
by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) on January
20, 1999.

The CURA Pilot Program launch culminates more than two years of research and
advocacy work by the HSSFC on behalf of the original Community Research and
Information Crossroads (CRIC) project on which the CURA Pilot Program is
based. As originally envisaged, the CURAs will advance community
development, enrich university research, and enhance student learning and
employability by facilitating the transfer of knowledge in the social
sciences and humanities to community groups with diverse interests and
information needs.

Both community groups and universities are invited to present applications
for the CURA Pilot Program to the SSHRC before the deadline, April 1, 1999.
