nightswimming

invites you to the
Stratford Festival's
public reading of
Ned Dickens'
new version of

OEDIPUS

King Oedipus' attempt to save the city of Thebes from a plague reveals a
terrible secret about his relationship with his Queen, Jocasta. Ned's
version of this epic story offers new insights into the world of Thebes, its
people and its leaders.

OEDIPUS is part of a seven play theatrical cycle called THE CITY OF WINE,
telling the story of Thebes, which includes the companion plays JOCASTA and
CREON, both of which were commissioned by Nightswimming. The workshop
reading of OEDIPUS follows a similar presentation of JOCASTA by the
Stratford Festival a year ago.

For more information about this play, or the entire cycle, contact Brian
Quirt at bquirt at interlog.com or Ned Dickens at ndickens at sympatico.ca.
