Head over to the History Department tomorrow at lunch for  Professor Andrew Hunt's  History as it Happens talk: "A Tremendous, Tremendous Campaign": Donald J. Trump's road to victory.

Tomorrow will mark the first week in office for President [Donald J. Trump] Trump-a reality that, less than two years ago, was just an old Simpsons punchline.

In this talk, Andrew Hunt starts by examining Donald Trump's historic victory in the 2016 presidential election, and the ways in which, at first glance, it seems unique and unprecedented. But then he traces political shifts in the United States back to two key presidential elections, those of 1964 and 1972, which sent the Republican and Democratic Parties in different directions politically, and ultimately help explain Trump's startling triumph last year.
