Please join us for the JUNO-winning Duo Concertante<https://duoconcertante.com/> (Nancy Dahn, violin and Timothy Steeves, piano), a duo that has toured the world and produced 12 award-winning CD’s. Their name comes from the inscription over Beethoven’s “Kreutzer” sonata, “in stilo molto concertante,” which implies the two performers are equal, dynamic voices. Outstanding musicians, champions of new Canadian music, visionary artistic directors, and inspiring mentors, Duo Concertante have forged a musical legacy and strive to provoke thought and engagement through music in innovative ways. This performance, featuring Dawn Avery’s Iotsistokwaron:ion (The Stars), along with Canadian composer Ian Cusson’s “Garden of Earthly Delights” and works by Dallapiccola and Schubert, evokes the place where music and critical issues intersect.
