Faculty of Arts 3 Minute Thesis

Join us for the Faculty of Arts 3 Minute Thesis competition and learn about our graduate students' outstanding ideas - in three minutes flat!

Competitors are given three minutes and the use of one static slide to present the breadth and significance of their graduate research to a non-specialist audience and a panel of Arts judges.

The event will take place tomorrow, March 12th, from 4:00-6:30pm in HH 1106.

Here are just a few of the exciting presentations you can expect to see:

  *   Protect and Survive: The Recently Declassified History of Britain’s Cold War Nuclear Survival Plants
  *   Voices in the Frames: Conceptualizing Canadian-Connected Terrorism
  *   We’re All in This Together: An Examination of Mass Graves and Multiple Burials in Ancient Greece
  *   Multiline Slots: Can Losing Be Reinforcing?
  *   Gods and Monsters: Drag Bodies and Nineteenth-Century British Arts and Literature

The top two competitors from the Arts heat will then advance to the University-wide 3MT competition on April 2 – where the winner receives a $1000 prize and the opportunity to compete at the 3MT provincial finals.

Please join us tomorrow evening to support the graduate students in the Faculty of Arts as they compete for a spot in the 3MT University of Waterloo finals.
