Dear UW community,
UW's Department of Music at Conrad Grebel University College is holding a Music Symposium from March 17 to 19. Over these three days, you will have the opportunity to take in a showcase of student performances and presentations, open classes and rehearsals, a lecture demonstration of South Indian drumming by guest artist Dr. Trichy Sankaran, and a keynote lecture "Interrogating Music and Traumatic Experience" by ethnomusicologist Dr. Joshua D. Pilzer from the University of Toronto (see abstract below). See e-poster attachments for details on Dr. Pilzer's lecture and Dr. Sankaran's presentations.  All events are free admission and open to the public.
 We look forward to your participation in this special event, and to engaging with you during formal Q&A sessions and more informally, during the Showcase and Keynote receptions. The Symposium concludes March 19 with a reception in the Lower Atrium and tour of the new Music Department facilities.
